Day 4 – Muscat May 6 ,2011
It was our last day in Muscat, I woke up very early in the morning not to miss the Sunrise.
and then I went back to sleep again 🙂
I woke up again at 9:30 AM. Went for showering and then ordered breakfast in the room.
We asked for late checkout since our flight is at 7:10 PM. They permit us to stay until 4 PM which was really perfect for us, side we have to be in the airport 2 hours before departure.
The offer include the transportation from and to the airport. and it was already mentioned in the letter that was handed to use from the private car driver at our arrival, that the car will take us from the hotel at 4 PM. They distance from the hotel to the airport is about 45 minutes driving.
we enjoyed the 45 minutes drive with the beautiful view of Muscat, the mountains, beach, port, forts, old building, etc.. the driver was explaining every single place we passes through.
We sat in costa had some refreshments and then it was almost boarding.
Day 3 Muscat
We woke up so tired and decided to have Breakfast in the room. The Buffet breakfast was included in  our room rate but I wanted to make sure if there is any additional for in room breakfast! I called the room service and asked  whether we have to pay any additional charge or not, and they told me it’s free as long as it not reach OR 25 for two person. I picked up the breakfast menu and included all the things we need for breakfast. The total was around OR 23 which falls in the range and free of charge.
We then change our clothes and took our stuff (Tan, books, iPhone, Sunglasses, etc..) Heading to the Private Beach.
The 100 Meters Private Beach at AlHusn Resort is only permitted for those who stays at AlHusn Resort. Other visitors from Alwaha & Albandar resort are not allowed to enter the private beach. Â They also offer free Icebox filed with water, juices, and Evian cooler Spray. You can do water activities such as kayaking and it’s too free of charge !
We stayed there until the sunset 5:55 PM and took the seating in the other side of the beach where the sunset is just in front of us.
after the sunset, we went back to the room had shower. after that we ordered dinner in the room.

Day 2 – Muscat
The first thing I did when I woke up in the second day is to check the view at the balcony, since we’ve arrived at night on the first day.
It was a beautiful view facing the Mountains and the beach! I really love it.
We went to have our buffet breakfast in Alsultana Restaurant in Alhusn Hotel, one of Shangri-La’s three resorts.
We then headed out walking to discover the place.
It was too Hot outside and we figure out the only one thing we can do is to go swimming. We took our stuff  and headed to the Private Beach.
We stayed at the Beach for 3 hours and then back to our room for shower and relaxation.
On our way back to the room, we went to check the swimming pool and it was fully occupied. there was no single seat available there!!
It was 5:15 PM when we reached the room. We decided to check Muttrah Souq, took fast shower and ask the reception at the hotel for a taxi. The souq closes at 9 so figure out we still have time to go there and have some “Omani Halwa” from there. We also booked for late dinner at 9:45 in Bait Albhr Restaurant, which is specialized in Seafood gourmet.
We didn’t stay long in Muttrah souq as it was so crowded and because of the heat!! it took as like forever to find the Halwa shop, and a decade to find a taxi in the other part of the souq!! Â The way from the souq to the resort is about 22 minutes. We reached the hotel earlier and thought we might find an earlier reservation for the restaurant, but it was full.
The food was great! we stayed in the outdoor tables of the restaurant. The place was fantastic.
