Eid Holiday Between Copenhagen and Amsterdam

I went to Amsterdam and Copenhagen for the Eid 10 Days holiday, and spent the first day in Amsterdam, then from Amsterdam to copenhagen the next day for 5 days, and back to Amsterdam again. from 24/7/2014 to 2/8/2014 from Kuwait to Amsterdam roundtrip via Turkish Airlines. and then another roundtrip from Amsterdam to Copenhagen via KLM. When we reached Amsterdam at 2:30 PM we went to the luggage belt and my suitcase did not show up!! I filed a situation at the baggage claim belt staff. and they asked me to write down our address in Copenhagen since the missing bag claim takes from 2 to 5 days. and since we only gonna spend the first night in Amsterdam. 24/7 to 28/7 in Amsterdam, and then 25/7 to 29/7 in Copenhagen and back again from 29/7 to 2/8 in Amsterdam.

We took a shuttle to the hotel thats a Euro 17 oneway per person. and stayed at the Inntel Hotels. I did not really like the room it was tiny and hot! So we decided to cancel the 5 days we reserved at this hotel for after our trip to Copenhagen and booked at the Crown Plaza which is way better than this hotel. and since I used to stay in the Crown Plaza during my previous visits to Amsterdam.

Walked around to the Dam Square. and a lil shopping for my missing bag!!

The next morning we went to Schiphol airport by the Taxi and the fair was Euro 45, it took us and hour and a half to reach Copenhagen by plane.

It was quite hot in Copenhagen, the sun burned our skin! When I reached the hotel ” The Square” a quite awesome hotel, I asked them about my back if they hear anything from the airport, and their response was NO! I kept asking them everyday until the third day in Copenhagen at 9 PM while returning to the hotel and it was finally there! I even spent the previous days shopping for clothes, Underwear, and bathroom essentials! I needed to do the packing again!

We went for a canal Cruise. and it costs us half of the price, since we got the 5 days Copenhagen Card from the Airport for 780 Kronos.

After the Canal Cruise we walked around and decided to check the Little Mermaid.

It was a long walk to the Little Mermaid !! but was excited to discover the place, especially that it is the first time for us to visit Copenhagen. The one thing we did not like about it specially now in July is the heat!! Man the sun is too HOT!

The little Mermaid

I kept asking the reception at the hotel about my suitcase and wether or not someone called them from the airport. And the answer was always no! until the third day, 27/7/2014 I’ve encounter a lady at the reception and told her about my situation. She was kind enough to call Amsterdam Airport asking them about my suitcase, giving them my reference number the one I filed on our arrival in Amsterdam. They told her she should check with Copenhagen Airport, and the system shows that the bag was sent yesterday night to Copenhagen. The lady kept calling the airport as it was a busy day and no one is picking up the phone. She told me she will keep calling until someone answers her. At night I passed by the reception when I came back to the hotel and she told me they gonna deliver the bag to the hotel at 9PM. I then went to the elevator on my way to the room, and while I was entering the elevator I heard a voice ma’am wait, and there was my bag!!!! I was totally happy seeing my bag again!

Later we went to the train station, and while we were there we get Lebara Prepaid sim card from 7Eleven.

Paid 50 Krone for the Sim-Card and another 50 Kr for the 1 GB plan.  On our way back from the station we passed by Tivoli Garden ! We checked if the entrance is free for the Copenhagen Card holder. and indeed it was free!

We spent an awesome evening at the Tivoli Garden, between shows, walking between the flowers, and ended it with a delicious dinner besides the canal.

I had Lobster Soup, and White Danish traditional dish for dinner.

I kinda like the Danish Krone Coins, specially the one with the hole in the middle. It looks somehow unique!

The next morning 28/7/2014. We woke up early in the morning, had our breakfast, with that yummy danish pastry that i enjoyed having with coffee. I also love their breads and their cheese, and my all time favorite cheese is Brie.

I then went out in the terrace to have my coffee there, and enjoying the view.

After the Breakfast we went walking to a bus stop, and took a bus to one of the metro stations, heading to the Blue Planet (National Aquarium Denmark) Which is know as Den Bla Planet in Danish.

We pretty much enjoyed our visit to the Aquarium. Such a unique planet.

and from the planet we took the metro station again to the Lagoon. Spotted those lovely family sleeping, the dad, mom, and the kid. and the people at the Lagoon are enjoying the swim in summer, especially with this the hot weather.

On our way to Nyhavn we pass by the #HappyWall by Thomas Dambo. The screen consists of nearly 2000 wooden boards that can be recersed and change color. everybody who wants can in this way creat patters, animal, words or statements- only limit is your imagination

We went to a restaurant that became my favorite,  Skipperkroen Restaurant in Nyhavn. I had Gambas al Ajillo (Sauteed Shrimp with Garlic and Olive Oil) a dish to die for! It comes in a cast iron pan that was sizzling hot at the time it served. I had this dish for almost three days! it comes with a side sauce a combination of saffron and mayonnaise sauce, unbelievable!!! The dish was delicate, savory, and full of flavor! Also their Homemade French fries was really really really Good!

Danish Viking is kinda call.. you can spotted everywhere !
