Destination: Paris, France
Duration: 2 Days. Dates: June 20 to June 22 2014. Via: Gulf Air Hotel: Chambiges Elysees Money Exchange: KD 1 = 2.58 EuroI’ve planned a weekend trip to Paris just the day ahead of the trip. Our flight scheduled 7:50 PM 19/6/2014. Via Gulf Air.
and four hours transit in Manama. At 12:45 AM our flight departed from Manama heading to Paris. Arrived to CDG at 6:30 AM.
The weather was cold but cool and refreshing. We took a taxi from the airport to Chambiges Elysees hotel for 65 Euro.
It’s was really crowded, it took us an hour to reach the hotel with the traffic in the early hours of the morning.
It was to early to check in, we kept our luggage at the hotel and headed to Cambronne station where my favorite cafe located to have our first breakfast in Paris.
The closest metro station to our hotel was Alma Marceau. Just a 6 minutes walk from the hotel. There is an iPhone app called Paris Metro which made it very easy to figure out the stations where the places we wanted to visit located. It works without the need to be connected to the internet. All what I have to do is to check the name of metro station for the place I want to visit, click on calculate rout and specify the from/to Metro station. It gives me exactly the name of the stations, changes if any between stations, and the duration which is pretty awesome.
After the breakfast we went to Saint-Paul Station via Cambronne station. We wanted to get a prepaid sim card from Orange to surf the net on the go.
Before interring Orange we went to Starbucks to check their Tumblers and Mugs to see if there is something special customized for Paris, but we haven’t find anything special, the same usual merchandise.

I payed 10 Euros for the sim card (valid for 6 months) and another 10 Euros for a 100 MP internet. At the same street in Saint-Paul there are a wonderful antique & souvenirs boutique called (La Vaissellerie) at Le Marais just a couple of minutes walking from Orange.
I really love this Boutique <3<3<3 they have such cool stuffs! from here we went the opposite way back keeping Orange on our right side, and then taking a right, left, right and ahead within 500 meters where my all time favorite shop (Sabon) Located.
When it comes to Sabon, my favorite scent is Lavender, Lavender Apple, And fabric Linen.
It was 3 PM when we finished our shopping between those two shops, and other shops in-between. from Saint-Paul station we took the metro back to Alma station where our hotel located. The bags were really heavy and we wanted to check our room and get our stuff done.
The room was comfy & cozy, and has a typical french style which I like! We stayed in the room for about 2 hours, between shower, napping, and getting our things our of the luggage.
We left the hotel at 5:30 PM heading to Champs Elysees to get some Jewelry from Tiffany & Co. Spent like two and half hours between checking their stuff and fixing them up.
We were done at 8 PM, and while we were leaving the store, the guy at the T&Co asked us if we had a plan for the day, and we asked if he would recommend a good restaurant for us to have our lunch. He recommended a very well known restaurant called La Fermette Marbeuf since 1900 serving French cuisine , just a couple of blocks from the Champs Elysees.
The Restaurant has a fabulous french ambience, serving a delicious french tradition cuisines.
I had Cheese Plater for Starter, and we were served some sort of a fresh soft bread with backed with butter and olives and it was YUMMY.
For the Main Dish, I had a typical french style Steak with potatoes, and a mustard sauce on the side.
By the time we left the restaurant during the Sunset at 9:50 PM, it was quite cold outside. and we were very tired. We decided to go back to the hotel and have some a good night sleep, not to miss waking up early the second morning, since we planned only two days in Paris. When we reached the hotel we asked the guy at the lobby to have our breakfast in the room at 8 AM. and set the alarm to 7:30AM.
Day 2.
It was 7:30 AM when I woke up with the sound of the alarm. and by 8 AM I heard the room door knocking, and here comes our breakfast. We had Hot chocolate, orange Juice, Pastries, butter & jam, Baguette, and Croissant.

After the Breakfast, we left the hotel walking to Alma Metro Station Heading to Chaussee d’Antin – La Fayetter for Galleries La Fayetter.
Decided to have espresso from Starbucks to have my boost of the day.
Spent some time checking the perfumes, and the accessories shops. and later we went to have lunch at Angelina Restaurant (Another Favorite Food Spot). Angelina Restaurant (La Maison Angelina). A luxury brand with a prestigious image that symbolises the “French Way of Life” Founded in 1903 by the Austrian confectioner Antoine Rumpelmayer. If you hit Angelina Restaurant don’t miss their Famous cake “Mont Blanc” and their “Hot Chocolate l’Africain”.

After Lunch we decided to take the things we bought from there to the hotel. Of course I can not leave without getting Pierre Hermes famously delicious Macarons. I Took a box of 12 pieces different flavors.
We stayed at the hotel for an hour and then headed back to the train station to spend the evening at the Eiffel Tower. When We reached the train station we noticed that we no longer have internet service on our prepaid card! We changed our plan and decided before heading to the eiffel tower to stop at a closer metro station that have a shop to recharge our cards.
Had some Macarons on the way 🙂 while waiting for the metro to arrive.
and then from from there we went to Concord Metro Station the closest to the Eiffel Tower.
Enjoyed the music in the surrounding area, and the Sunset. There was a new yorker guy playing the Piano just in front of the Eiffel Tower during the sunset, what a romantic Evening!
